Dr. Lopez graduated from Colombian School of Medicine. He completed three years of Internal Medicine residency at Ravenswood Hospital affiliated with the University of Illinois. He was chief resident in Internal Medicine residency from 1995 to 1996. Dr. Lopez then moved to Rancho Mirage, California with a Multi-specialty group to start his Internal Medicine practice and moved into solo practice early 1999. He attended UCLA from 2000 to 2002 and received his Masters degree in HealthCare Management and Public Health. Dr. Lopez was honored with the excellence in academic achievement from the Delta Omega honorary society for graduate studies in public health in 2002. Dr. Lopez is the founder and Medical Director of Internal Medicine Specialists of Rancho Mirage. He enjoys multiple outdoor activities with his beautiful wife and three children.
Maryam Bahreini, MD FACOG
Dr. Bahreini is a Board certified Gynecologist with over 30 years of practice experience. She finished her medical education a Pahlavi University School of Medicine in Iran. She had her Internship in Greater Baltimore Medical Center hospital associated with John Hopkins University, followed by 3 years Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. Dr Bahreini was appointed Associate Chief of OB_GYN Department at Columbus Medical Center. In 1979, she moved to Torrance, California where she started her private practice. Since 1996, Dr Bahreini has been in practice in the Coachella Valley, dedicating her time to Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapy and Anti-aging medicine for both Men and Women.

Natasha K. Creighton, MD
Dr. Creighton finished her undergraduate degree at University of California at San Diego with majors in Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology. She is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine. She did her internship and Internal Medicine residency at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Creighton was an Associate Professor at Albany Medical College before joining Internal Medicine Specialists. She enjoys tennis, swimming, cycling and piano.
John Deller, MD FACP FACE
Board certified in Internal Medicine with sub-specialties in Endocrinology and Geriatrics. Dr. Deller served as Medical Director of the Diabetes Program at Eisenhower Medical Center for 12 years. He is currently the director of the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at IMS. Dr. Deller specializes in the treatment of the diabetic patient and the entire spectrum of Endocrine and Nutritional Disorders.
Maria Garcia MD
Dr. Garcia obtained her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon. Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines. She then completed a three year residency program in Anesthesiology at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital. She decided to migrate to the United States to be closer to her family. She moved to Chicago, Illinois where she finished her Internal Medicine training at Ravenswood Hospital which is affiliated with the University of Illinois. She is a board certified internist and a member of the American College of Physicians. She had practiced for 7 years in Flora, Illinois.
She served as Chief of Staff of Clay County Hospital for a year prior to her move to California. She had joined the practice in Rancho Mirage in May 2005. She comes from a family of physicians. She is an amateur gourmet cook and loves traveling.
Jeffrey Heilpern, MD MRCP

Charles J. Horky, MD FACC
Dr. Horky is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He did his internship and medical residency at the Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. (Formerly known as the Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital and Medical Center. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the UCLA Medical Center and Scripp's Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of Internal Medicine Specialists.
Lynne Messner, MD
Dr. Messner graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 1997 at which time she was awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award. She went on to complete a four year residency training program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In her fourth year of residency she was elected chief resident of the Internal Medicine/Pediatric residency program and performed this duty from 2000-2001. Upon completion of her residency program she spent the next four years working as an internist as well as a pediatrician in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Messner is board certified in Internal
Medicine. In 2003 she left the east coast to join her husband in California who is an anesthesiologist at Eisenhower Medical Center. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young energetic sons. She is also an outdoor enthusiast and participates in yoga, biking, scuba diving and snow boarding.
James Pine MD
Dr. James Pine graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 1958 and completed 4 years of medical school in 1962 from St. Louis. Dr. James Pine performed his residency at USC. He has served in the Public Health Service from 1966 to 1968. Dr. James Pine served as Chief of Medicine of St. Francis Hospital. He has practiced in the desert for over 20 years. Married for 42 years with 3 children he enjoys sports, travel, reading and music.
Gerald Trostler, MD FACP
After graduating from UCLA Medical School, Dr Trostler spent four years completing his Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai, UCLA and at Wadsworth VA Hospital. He then spent two years in the Air Force as the internist at Edwards Air Force Base. He then moved to Long Beach, CA, where he practiced Internal Medicine until he moved to the desert. Dr. Trostler is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCI where he received the Best Teacher Award. He was also honored by LA Magazine as one of the best internist in Los Angeles County. He and his wife live in Palm Desert and have three sons. Dr. Trostler is an avid photographer and has exhibited in his photographs here in the desert.
Stephanie Yao, MD
Dr. Stephanie Yao graduated from the University of Santa Tomas in Manila Philippines. She finished a three year residency program in Internal Medicine at Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center, an affiliate of University of Illinois, in Chicago. She went into private practice for the last 7 years in the same city. Dr. Yao then decided to relocate to California to be closer to her family and join her colleagues at Internal Medicine Specialists of Rancho Mirage. She enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking in her spare time.
